This you would have to ask on the AVG support forum as all of the helpers here are going to be using avast only (unless some have it on another system). I have winXP, win7 and win10 systems, all running avast free 17.5.230x.

You also don’t say what Repair software you used, that too could be outside avast or avg if it can’t repair.
