exactly, that’s what I was going to advise before I read your post…otherwise in case of infection (s) with two separate anti-malware running at the same time, one resident, and the other one scanning, I can imagine the resulting mess…
Do I have to do anything with this OTL? I thought I saw in some posts that it has to be removed or cleaned?
Also, how important is it to have the extra things that come with the Avast programs that cost money? Our email provider does a really good job of catching spam. We have a firewall as part of our router; it was pretty good when we got it, but it’s pretty old in technology terms.
I thought I would buy the malwarebyes program so we can get scheduled updates and downloads. I’m just wondering how essential the Avast upgrades are since I don’t really know how effective those other elements are (prevent theft of personal data and surf the web safely - is that even possible?) or how much they are needed. Any info on that?
To remove OTL run it and hit the cleanup button and it will remove itself
I use AIS as Hotmail spam is not to good and my only firewall is on the router. But it is horses for courses, the sandbox element is handy with the kind of work I do ;D
