Running avast Internet Security 2014.9.0.2021 on Windows 7.1. I have a weekly scan set up to run overnight and for the past two weeks the avast scan window is open with the phrase “Scan complete, threat detected”. There’s a “show results” button on the window; if I click it, nothing happens. If I click on the Scan history link at the bottom of the window and view the latest log file, the result shows “no virus found”.
SHOW RESULTS doesn’t work. The link to the right, “Show report file” doesn’t work, either.
The file “Full system scan.txt” seems to grow without truncation. I can only import 100,000 or so rows into a spreadsheet to try to see what’s going on. If each row is an “entry”, then it’s well over the 10,000 specified in the options.
Bet all 3 problems are linked. So I don’t fret for nothing, when is the next rev that Pondus predicts expected? General time frame; not specific date.
An older post but this has just happened (again) to my wife, who has a daily quick scan set; no result pops up when the button is clicked and looking in the log for the scan it doesn’t actually list any kind of infection at all.
Program version: 2015.10.0.2208
Virus definition: 150216-2
Edit: I notice in another older thread it was said this was a bug that still needs to be fixed. If true (and if talking about avast! 2015) this seems to have been around for quite a while, considering the length of time it’s been here!
Multiple ways to find out, the least attractive of which is installing beta software. I dont do beta.
The best option would be for avst to post exactly what they are fixing like most companies instead of putting an ambiguous, blanket statement and saying “multiple fixes” or “many improvements”. They’ve never even acknowledged there’s an issue.
