hi everyone. im having issues this past week with avast.
when i browse in chrome, almost every new site i open up, i get this THREAT HAS BEEN DETECTED popup.
it says this on it:
hxxp://adultvidssite.net/1/index.php?u=46608
but im not going to that above website ever, and i never have. why should this pop up when im going into my regular website pages?

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”

ok well i just ran the FRST.exe with the fixlog you had me save.
it ran, and then restarted the computer. but now ALL my google chrome extensions are gone!
i had all my extensions set up nicely with icons, and all the websites i need, neatly set up, and everything is gone,
instead the only extension i have now, is ‘avast online security’.
what happened to all my extensions? am i able to retreive them?
do i need to do a system restore?

I do not know how that happened as I just removed speed dial from chrome, which is just one extension. The fixlist confirms that

oops. sorry, what i meant was that my speeddial was removed.
all my bookmarks are still here.
but what i really need is my speeddial. i had it set up very nicely.
is there a way i can retreive my speeddial?
in the meantime i havent had that bug jump up anymore

OK I have just done some checking and the guy who created that extension used the same details as an advertising bit of malware
http://www.malwareremovalguides.info/pup-optional-speeddial-removal-guide/ this has been around for a fair few years now. Are you still getting the alerts
wow thats pretty crazy. so thats the reason avast keeps on thinking its malaware?
as of now, im not getting the bug anymore.

hi everyone. so i added back speed dial. it reinstalled and still includes all my settings. and i havent had those warning pop up anymore!
however theres another problem
for some reason, my screens on chrome are having graphic glitches. i can see wierd lines on it that dont belong.
heres a screen shot. notice on the right side, that the outline of the sticky notes, shows through the page.
i havent had these problems untill right now, so im guessing its connected to the changes?
ok, so for an update.
ever since i followed the instructions written above, my chrome has stopped giving me those errors.
however, today i was looking around in the settings of the chrome browser, i notied that it prompted me to sign in.
as soon as i signed in, chrome automatically started installing all my past extensions, and then the problem started happening again. so im back to square 1.
should i follow those same instructions?
What you need to do first is delete the synch backup that you have with google otherwise this will continue to happen
Then run a fresh FRST scan please

i unticked the sync backups. and ran the frst again. its back to normal. but when i reinstalled speed dial this time, it didnt retreieve all the previous links like the previoius time. so its just a blank speed dial now, and i need to somehow refind all my previous links and thumbnail pics that i had set up. any ideas?
I do not use chrome but is there a backup option within speed dial
