Hi
Trying to help my dad on his PC. He is getting persistent 'threat has been detected 'popup but avast is not detecting anything.
Also, finding constant google ad popups. Not sure how to deactivate as I’m not too familiar with Windows 8
I followed other instructions and have run various scans. Logs are attached.

hey and welcome to the avast forum. someone will help you later today when the expert comes online.

a small note please stick to one thread instead on creating new ones. i sow you had created two thread about this problem. :wink:

CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Toolbar: HKCU - No Name - {7FEBEFE3-6B19-4349-98D2-FFB09D4B49CA} - No File EmptyTemp: CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Thanks for your help :slight_smile: Here is log

Doesn’t appear to have fixed anything at this point - ad pop ups still present as are the threat has been detected warnings
