Recently, I run a Full Scan on my computer with Avast! and notice that there is threat called
Win32:Crypt-RTY[Trj]
I want to know what kind of Trojan is that? Can’t find any description about this kind of Trojan on the net.
Thanks~
Yes I’ve googled for that before but i can’t find this kind of Trojan!!
Look at the name: Win32:Crypt-RTY[Trj]
It’s not Win32.Crypt-BKK.Trj nor Crypt-MIZ [Trj] nor Crypt-OSW [Trj] but Crypt-RTY[Trj]
Different av vendors are giving it different names.
You can use VGREP to lookup the names.
You can see an example here:
http://home.mcafee.com/virusinfo/virusprofile.aspx?key=2375787#none
best way is to upload the file to virustotal, then see what the other vendor name it and then search at there sites
or you search virustotal for Win32:Crypt
Did you have Norton installed previously
Well I’ve used the Virus Total to check it out and it seem that not many AV determine it as Trojan. Anyway, l see no harm to my computer yet so I guess my .dll file is still usable. Thx
If not many av’s detect it, it still can be harmful.
some weeks back we had several of these detections, all related to Norton signature files detected in restore points
have you previous used or do you have Norton/Symantec installed?
where is the detected file located … full file path
post link to VT scan result
I haven’t used norton or symantec previously.
Full file path of original folder: C:\Program Files\Avast Software\Avast
