I have managed to hit an embedded setup.exe which avast thinks is nasty. It has totally removed the file from where it was and now I can’t find it. Anyone know where it has gone???

Depends on your settings, did you check the virus chest…?
avast is very likely correct as you got it from a illegal/non trusted source.
You can buy it on steam.
