Too bad Vista didn’t have a 100 but I’m proud of the Alwil Team! Just wait till 5.0 is released!
By the way, what happened with Vista? ???
-= Nice to hear…
-= Here’s another one: http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archive/2009/06
-= Surprisingly, avira & bitdefender failed…
I agree with Tech. Time to bring (Avast) antivirus for Vista up to Alwil standard.
There should theoretically be no difference as they are essentially the same avast may use a different driver or other elements but I doubt that would be the cause of the failure. These tests are very strict and one missed sample or one false positive and you don’t get the VB100 award.
In that case it was 1 FP, see image and that would obviously now have been corrected. So the reason was nothing to do with it being Vista64 and not XP but an FP.
Yahoo! ;D
Cheers to avast!^^
tears of joyIm sooo proud to be an avast! user…^^
YAHEY!!
BTW i didnt actually understand why the test CROSSED OUT Win Vista’s box…anyway it doesnt really matter as avast! is doing its job…Stopping, ripping, burning and cursing malwares at the same time, praying for its demise!^^lol^^

What is strange for me is that it is a Vista false positive and not the others? Or the tests are conducted in different times (which seems more obvious then…)?
Why, because they are months apart (you can see that in Minacross’s image) and it has nothing to do with Vista or XP but the signatures at that point in time.
Thanks David. I missed that info.

I see what you mean DavidR. I dont usually follow these things through myself. Thanks for clarifying issue further. And I think good for Tech for putting the obvious question. Always wish for avast to be optimum choice.
avast! is always on target. Congratulations, EVEN IF YOU ARE GIVING UP SUPPORT FOR WIN 3.1! ;D
