If you send yourself an email with nothing in the subject line. Avast should pop up with a warning. Works for me, and tells me avast is paying attention.
It really works but you must configure the mail Heuristics checking ‘all’ the topics available… 8)

i don’t actulary use any other mail client other then hotmail and yahoo, but i am curious to what Heuristics is?

At least you asked and just because you didn’t see it, doesn’t make you stupid… I have learned and remembered more things since I started on these forums and on occasio have made some blunders. If you haven’t already you may want to upgrade to Thunderbird 0.7.2 Also if you use Firefox you may wanna get Firefox 0.9.2 
For Security Reasons you should defenitly update. Nobody is safe any more…

There are now security issues for both just like with IE.

It is disappointing to find out that the Firefox/Thunderbird sites which Firefox automatically puts on its “Bookmarks Toolbar Folder” (pointing to http://texturizer.net) aren’t up to date with regards to patches. I’ll be monitoring the mozilla.org site in future.

EDIT: You’re right about Mozilla web site… they are still in shock (most likely), hehe… not used to deal with sudden fixes, patches, updates… they should ask IE guys (Microsoft) for some advices now…

I read that you should uninstalll them instead of just updating.
Just save "D+S\Application Data"Mozilla+Thunderbird folders and put them back after install.

Not necessary… when you download full versions of let’s say Mozilla 1.7.1 and Thunderbird 0.7.2, it will warn you while you’re installing them that installation will erase all personal files, everything in order to install new version. At that point you should be aware that you have to save your personal Mozilla/Thunderbird/Firefoxfiles somewhere else, and then do with them whatever you want latter…

I go to Mozilla.org for Mozilla programs. Think both updated items have been out for 2-3 days now, or around that. They released 0.7.2/0.9.2 due to a bug or two.
