I am using the 4.1 free version
in the setup it mentions oulook / I’m using mozilla thunderbird
is my mail protected?

Indeed, this has been covered many times before. Use the search function on this board and use “mozilla” and/or “thunderbird” as keywords. You will find many threads about it. Read especially those which has to do with Avast 4.5, because that version will be out next saterday.

Mail handling in 4.5 is very different from 4.1, but much better/easier
