Thunderbird (esr release) saving to draft issues. [Resolved]

Running Windows XP SP3 with the last updates from MS (last year ?).
(Athlon 3Ghz: 3 GB RAM: 2 x 1 TB HD’s: PC is not switched off)

Recently changed my email client from Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird.
I always get an issue when saving a new message to draft, either manually (save draft) or when the application does this automatically every 5 minutes.
The Tbird error is “there was an error saving the message” if I continuously retry it will eventually save, if I cancel it then Tbird restarts.

I have narrowed this down to the File System Shield. If I switch this off then its all good, if I switch it back on then drafts fail again.
I have added the following exclusions to File System Shield
C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\87tb7t8op7.default\Mail\Local Folders\Drafts
C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\87tb7t8op7.default\Mail\Local Folders\Drafts.msf
But it still happens.

Has anyone any ideas ?

I have the same issue to save last 2 days , and more , I can’t send mails => error:(in french)

Un problème est survenu lors de l’insertion du fichier file: ///C:/DOCUME~1/Toto/LOCALS~1/Temp/nsemail-1.html dans le message. Voulez-vous continuer l’envoi du message sans le fichier ?
nb:"Toto" is the name of my pc

The soluce I found is to add the following exclusions to File System Shield:

C:\Documents and Settings[ProfilName]\Local Settings\Temp\nsemail* (or where you have your “TEMP” folder)

ps:seems to be du to “send later” thunderbird setting

happy that it works, however avast should still take a look about what appears to be a bug :-\ (each time with winxp for what I can see on others forums)
