Thunderbird POP E-Mail can’t download e-mail today unless Mail Shield is disabled.
It was working fine for a long long time.
I checked in the 1-update older Thunderbird, and it’s the same.
Just reporting it so it can get fixed.

FYI,
Came from recent daily updates. No certificate error messages. Just won’t connect to get mail, long pause there, had to close TB to clear it, forget the stop button.
Workaround: mail scanner off.
I spoke too soon.
Now I have the certificate problem for smtp outgoing e-mail.
I’ll do the certificate fix.

I did the certificate fix but I get the error in the attached image when trying to send mail.
Sending of the message failed.
Peer’s certificate has an invalid signature.
The configuration related to smtp.gmail.com must be corrected.
