Hi Guys!!!
was wondering what is wrong with my system. My time and date keeps resetting to the default of 01/01/02, 0000hrs. I did tried to replace the internal computer battery but to no avail. There are times when i tried registry clean up and virus scan, the problem disappear. But this time round, it seemed that no matter what i do, the problem still persists. when i restarted my computer, the time and date does not disappear, but when i switched off the main power supply, the problem occurs.

Anybody who could provide me a sound solution, your help is greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advanced !!!

Best Regards,
Sanjing

I am not sure this will help you but sometimes the problem, when not the battery, can be found in the BIOS/CMOS settings. You can get to the BIOS clock by entering the BIOS or CMOS settings during boot up of your computer. The key used to enter the BIOS/CMOS settings is different for each machine. Normally, when you reboot or turn on your computer, you will see something that mentions hitting a specific key to get into settings or configuration or something like that. Generally, the key is something like F8, F4, Space Bar, Enter, etc. If you see the Windows XP loading screen, then it is too late and you will have to reboot and try again.

Once you get into the BIOS/CMOS settings, make sure that the time and date are set correctly. Make sure to save the changes and then exit from the BIOS/CMOS. I hope this helps.

hi CharleyO,
thanks for your reply. What i mean is that when i power off my computer, it will automatically jump to the BIOS screen(the place where u suggest me to go) asking me to update the time and date.
