Since I have upgraded to version 4.6.744 I get a time out (internet mail provider) when tying to send Visual Zone logs,and I have been using this for 12 months. This is the first time I have had this problem.
I did not change anything only updated Avast.
I assume that visualzone is trying to send a ZoneAlarm log via SMTP as an email attachment - is that right?
Do you know the size of the log file it is trying to send? Also what is the advertised speed of your uplink connection?
Is the 120 seconds timeout you mention the setting in the Internet Mail scanner?
It is possible that your ZA logs have just become large enough to trip the 120 seconds timeout.
Does it help if you increase the timeout value in the Internet Mail scanner? There is one other suggestion I can offer - that is a tweak to try to improve the efficiency of the transmission of the message by avast.
