Think that need to look around and buy some other antivirus program. During this year I had a few attacks. Avast never recognized them and never blocked them and never found them during the scannig. I need to reinstall Windows. I never received any warnings from Avast when specially try to go go to some dangerous web pages to check how this antivirus works.
Now I made a research in internet about antivirus programs, read reviews about many other programs and found that Avast is not the best.
Time to switch.
Security starts with the user, not with software.
Keep in mind that there is no tool that detects every thread.
You can’t check how a anti-malware tool works unless you have the source code.
How did you know you had attacks ?
What exact avast version ?
What are the settings ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
etc.
If you had come here before, posting the issues and results, maybe all of us will have a better protection today.
