Hi
I have avast internet security installed and have noticed when i ran a boot time scan the scan halted at a file called tmcontainer. On undertaking other scans the same thing happened.

Could someone please provide steps (in a non techy way) how i can remove this from my computer.

Any ideas why the virus scan stops at this file and how i can initiate the scan to complete would be appreciated.

Delete the file.
If needed Windows will create it again.

Thanks eddy am trying in vain to find the darn file but when i get to area it is not there despite following the path (i have all hidden files displayed) will try again tomorrow.

Still having issues with avast scan stopping at c:/windows/serviceprofiles/localservice/ntuser.dat (ea211018-…) tmcontainer 0000_________1.regtrans.ms if anyone can shed light on what this file is and how to resolve so the boot time scan can complete it would be appreciated. I have tried to locate this file to no avail.

Thanks eddy am trying to locate so i can remove this is annoying now as it prevents avast from scanning properly :frowning:
