I’ve tried 3 times to download Topaz Vivacity at this address, and 2/3 times it said I was downloading a virus. The third time i was trying to get exactly what it said it was, but it never came up, and the .zip file opened. My computer hasnt crashed yet, and was wondering if it was a false alarm, or if I should be worried. I have a friend who downloaded it and hasnt had virus issues, so i think it is a false alarm, though I wanted to be sure. I searched the net for this issue, and havent found anything on it either, which is why im posting here.
I’m pretty sure the error window said it was a Virus/Worm, and it was a Trojen-gen or something like that.
EDIT: I just opened the setup.exe file in the zip and this came up:
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive, e.g. C:\Suspect. Now exclude that folder in the Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect* That will stop the standard shield scanning any file you put in that folder. You should now be able to export any file in the chest to this folder and upload it to VirusTotal without avast alerting.
