[b]I installed avast on my PC I just got it’s Windows XP I set up the virus scan to scan on certain days and it is not scanning on those days so I have to manually scan instead did I miss something also where do I check for the screensaver like I do for my laptop which is windows 7
You don’t “have” to scan on demand frequently if you’re using the avast resident. But, anyway, the schedule should work.
Special scans should be checked for the screensaver to be shown.
Have to send you a compliment, for you have a great avatar.
A manual full scan as a rule should be only performed if it seems necessary or when you expect to have some malware of some sort, in a decent browser avast will also continuously scan all you download, and I once in a while do an on demand scan of files. Right click at avast logo scan file so-and so…Then particular files can be excluded from scanning also. Avast always scans documents at opening and files when writing to them, always as you see the avast ball turn around on the task bar you can be assured about the fact that the av solution is doing it’s job properly, hover over it and you should read “Your system is protected”,
