8) Hello to All at Forum. Here is my first posting , I need to know that if a virus of any sort can be transferred from a found laptop when plugging it in to see if it works , to my new laptop that is very recently purchased.
Yes there is a chance. You should establish the contents of the found laptop first to be free of malcode. Anyway “found” laptop should like all other issues found be turned in to your nearest policestation. If no-one comes for it - it can be claimed by you as finder. If a laptop came “falling from the back of a lorry”, I certainly would not trust what is on it, it could have been severely compromised,

Hide your email address or run the risk of spam attacks. 
A found laptop is not yours, take it to the Police station, they will trace the owner.
At the moment it’s theft by you.
& if you buy stolen laptops more fool you.
