sorry to disturb but just to let you know that we are a medium to big sized company using avast professional 4.8 and so far we have been pretty happy with it.
Yesterday i was scanning one of my machine with avast who didn’t detect anything, and which also has antivir protection installed (no online scanning, just on demand) which did find this one: TR/Dropper.Gen - Trojan
i’ve tested the same usb stick (still had the worm inside) with avast, and stil not detected, so i install antivir on another machine and did a scan which detected it straigh away.
Just to let you know, as the infection is spreading pretty quicky.
last time we had a similar case, avast came out in less than 24h with a new updates that would detect it straight away. If you can do the necessary again.
thanks a lot in advance, keep up the good work, avast rocks.
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to the following:
o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
o Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
* Then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply,
thanks a lot for you reply polonus, but i alraedy knew this trick.
my problem is that I have 400 machines to scan, and last time we had an undetected virus by avast, we just had to send them the viruses file and they came up straight away with a new av update that would pick it up staight away.
What i want is an update from avast that fixes the problem.
From its name my friend".Gen" you know that it is detected by avira generic detection and avira do a lot of FPs so scan the file with virus total and reply.dont worry avast is the best.
