I support quite a few Home and small business users. One of my small business users has a nine(9) user license for Avast 4.8 Pro. When I upgraded his systems to Avast 5.0, I ran into a problem. On most of the systems, I installed Avast Pro 5 over the top of Avast Pro 4.8, with no problems. On two systems I uninstalled 4.8 before I installed 5.0. Neither system recognizes the existing license. I tried uninstalling 5.0, reinstall 4.8, then insert the license. Everything looked good, until I reinstalled Avast Pro 5.0 over the top of the Avast Pro 4.8. It ignored the license and refused to start the 30 day trial period.
How do I fix this? The original purchase of Avast Pro 4.8 was made on Invoice REF# 258791775. The subscription should be good until 4/25/2010 3:31:15 PM, according to one of the machines successfully updated.
