Tray icon won't stay hidden

Using version 21.11.2500 of Avast Free Antivirus on Windows 10.

I have disabled the system tray icon in the program’s settings, but it keeps coming back. In order to make it disappear, I have to check the box “Show Avast tray icon” and uncheck it again. This makes the icon disappear, but it comes back when I restart my computer.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix planned?
