my 2 months trial period is up for 5.0 home edition.i have to make sure it was 5.0,because i had 4.0 the previous year.but the problem is i looked for a email sent from avast to let me know the trail period is up,which i was notified when i booted up,but i don’t see the new license key.i am sure i reregistered,how else would i have gotten a trial period.can you tell me where to look to see if i registered already or do i do i register now after trial period and where do i find the new license key to follow instruction to be covered for a year please.thanks!jim

you have a trial period bc you did not register, but you can do that now, and then again in a year…

On-line registration is very simple and it’s the preferred method for all users of avast Free Antivirus 5.0 installed on a computer with standard Internet connectivity. To perform on-line registration follow these steps:

The trial period of version 5 is only 30 days.
Click on Maintenance, than Registration for online registering.

  1. Open Avast.
  2. Click on “Maintenance” then “Registration”.
  3. Fill out the form for your license key and click “Submit”.

Inserting the license key into: avast! Free Antivirus, avast! Pro Antivirus and avast! Internet Security.

the OP just said his two months trial period was over, so he’s on V4 ::slight_smile: … otherwise I don’t know why he would have mentioned that…

@ carzio.1: can you post a screen shot of your Avast interface?

wasn’t merged at all, the OP double posted and the two threads are duplicates. Moderation should either lock or delete one of the two…but there’s no moderation on a normal basis here, except when there’s extreme flaming (from me yes I know ;D ).
