:slight_smile: hello everyone,first I would like to say I’am no computer wiz, I have learned by trial & error on my FIRST computer, but it has been 7 FULL DAYS since i first tried & installed AVAST antivirus & I ONLY have one thing to say about it, :-* SUPER kallistic ALla FISTIC EMPHY ALla DOSA, (wow it is super great,and seems to work better then my former (-after 3 yrs Norton antivirus,
I have recommended it to friends along with this forum if help need & have recieved nothing but POSITIVE reponse to those friends useing it.

but now have a simple question(S) plz,
Can’t remember how to

when i run a virus scan on all hard drives (on C & D drives)
1,IS THERE A WAY TO have the scan (automatically) scan also into the ??? archives files also,
2, on the little window that pops up
(that shows what you want to scan local drives
scan removable media
folder selection,
How do i have this also show scan ARCHIVES FILES,

What do you mean: on-access or on-demand scanning?

You have an option called ‘Scan archive files’ into the sensibility slider.

hello "Tech’ no I mean so that when I run AVAST virus scan say once a week, it will scan all hard drives, (c 7 d) and also scan the RCHIEVES files/folders also at same time 'thank u again for the help “AA”

You can run scheduled scans with the Pro version, not the Home (free)version.

QUESTION how can I enable it to scan with or while C & D drive is being scanned, Thanks for the help “AA”

P.S. i changed it once & scanned ,but CANNOT REMOBER HOW I DID IT,

You can schedule a scan with the home version, but you need to to it with the taskmanager.
Technical already told you how to enable archive scanning.

THANK U again, re read from "“Tech” yes understand now I look for the ARCHIEVE setting in the slider bar/setting Take care ok, “AA”

you set the sensivity of the scan by pressing one of the buttons ins lower left of the avast mainscanner window, i.e. your screenshot above
(the “skull” is for chest, one is for updates, and the 3rd is what you want):

  • then there pops up a little slider for the scan sensivity, and in this pop-up there’s also a checkbox for archive scanning
  • I think this should pop up for a short time also right after you click the Harddisk symbol (when selecting WHAT to scan)

(if not: either browse through all the options/settings, or repair/reinstall avast)
