I keep getting a virus alert for Win Trogen -gen {other}, repair it and it comes straight back when you check the file C:\spm2 \gate.
I used an online scan called Housecall and this came up clean.
I even uninstalled the program and reinstalled it but still got the problem.
I have been getting this since 8/6/04.
the program was downloaded {South Park Mario Bros 2 Last Edition}.

Try this scanne. It has better unknown virus detection than housecall.

Command on Demand it uses the time tested F-Prot engine so it is a good backup scanner like housecall

His problem is riding himself of it permanently.
If repair is not working it could be that the VRDB may not have been run, or have a record of the file pre-infection, in which case, repair may be ineffective.
Since Stephan123 didn’t state what OS he uses, it could be XP, in which case the file could be being generated by system restore. You may need to disable system restore.
Yes VRDB is up to date.
