Avast keeps giving me a pop up every time I go onto http://www.facebook.com/ saying I a threat has been detected.
The message reads:
avast! Web Shield has blocked a threat. No further action is required.
Object: http://www.facebook.com/|> {gzip}
Infection: JS:ScriptPE-inf[Trj]
Action: Connection Aborted
Process: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
The threat was detected and blocked while downloading an item from the web.
This JUST started happening (within the past hour). I went on to facebook before that and this didn’t happen.
What’s going on? O_o
Facebook (and many such social networks) is a big target for malware writers and it could be any number of things, unfortunately I can’t check this out as I don’t have a facebook account so can’t logon, but the avast web shield has previously been very accurate in these detections.
Hopefully someone with a facebook account can check it out.
Do you get this by only going to the FB site…? (Can’t reproduce it…!)
Or do you get it while logging in to your account?
If so, your account may have been hacked.

As I said in an other topic, lot’s of people reported that Facebook often loads with malware, and some people use Facebook to host malware, that’s why I don’t recommend to use it!
