  1. There are many sticky threads in the forums, the ones at the top of the main forums, these contain a wealth of information of things other than avast as well.
    Security Tips & Tricks is a good case in point.

  2. The tracking virus you are talking about, I believe you are getting confused between AdAware and avast, adaware often mentions tracking cookies, which are a minimal risk as the tracking relates to collecting information on your browsing habits (web sites, etc.). These are generally used for marketing and adverts and not collecting data, passwords, etc. There are key loggers that are designed to capture every thing you type and pass it on, this is different to tracking.

However it doesn’t hurt to take precautions with your on-line banking, change your password and have a strong password not easily guessed, etc.

Hi Thanks see I told you it would be hard dealing with me. I’ve only just started doing the internet so congrates for getting me through it. I’ll have a look for windows updates I now Microsoft won’t let me because the nice person that had this before me done it illegal and it wouldn’t let me in without the reg number :-[But thats what I get for going second hand Thank you all I’ll probably be back but hopefully just to chat and gain some knowledge ;D
