I too am having the same problems. I am running XP with the updates and service packs and the home version on Avast. It gives me the same message for a long time now:
Memory infected: Win32:Trojan-Gen {other}
windows\system32\sqln.dll
The file doesn’t exist and when I ran tauscan yesterday it didn’t detect a thing. It’s annoying to not be able to scan because it won’t go past this point. So I restart and it checks on bootup and finds nothing then when I start the scan again I get the same message. Any suggestions?

Hi,
please read the link “VirusRemoval” below in my sig and:
- post a hijackthis-Logfile
- report results of Onlinescanners (pause avast shield for this…)
- Maybe try Ad-aware, spybot and cwshredder
