after scanning with avast it is telling me that I have the win32trojan.gen (VB) vrius and I cannot delete it or move to chest …I am running windows ME…can anyone help?
hmmm :-\
Can you try to do a full scan in Safe mode?
If you had Win XP you could done a boot scan and to remove the virus, but…
Also you can try to do a forum search for a similar topic
Maybe some of the more experienced users could help here
Thank!!I’ll try that and see what happens!
Files that are in use (even viruses) are protected by windows from being deleted or moved.
These questions help us to help you.
- What OS are you using? is it up to date?
- What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number, e.g. 0436-4 (see about avast!)
- What was the filename, where was it found
example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)? - What actions have you taken to try and resolve the problem?
Safe mode or boot-time scan are likely to be successful because the file isn’t likely to be in use. Depending on the location of the infected file you may need to do other things.
