started with the “run avg” message - didn’t help
have run norton et al
have turned off the system restore and run norton
still no luck
any ideas? appreciate your help

Just deleting the file in SafeMode (F8-Boot) doesn’t help ?
have you REBOOTED after turning off RESTORE ?

And/or please read the link below in my sig: “VirusRemoval” and

  • try ad-aware, Spybot & cwshredder,
  • come back with more Info, e.g. exact location/path/name
  • results of Onlinescanners
  • if all else fails, post a hijackthis-Log
