Trojan Horse found but avast can't find the file??? Please HELP!!!

I hope someone can help me! I tried accessing the internet for the first time today and received an avast! Warning that says: “A Trojan Horse Was Found!”

File name: C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\3.bin\F3POPSWT.DLL

Malware name: Win32:Spyware-gen. [Trj]

Malware type: Trojan Horse

VPS version: 0624-0, 06/11/2006

I’ve tried to Move to chest and Delete but no matter how many times I try, it tells me “avast!: Cannot find the file specified - Cannot process: C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\3.bin\F3POPSWT.DLL”

Please tell me what to do! I can’t get it to go away. Should I reboot my computer? PLEASE HELP!!! ???

Lolly

You could try a boot-time scan if you have XP or Win2k.

A google search for MyWebSearch returns many hits, this is just one of them http://www.pchell.com/support/mywebsearch.shtml.

I have XP… but what’s a boot-time scan? How do I run it? (I have the Home edition of avast if that matters).

Right now I can’t get the warning to go away and my start button has disappeared.

Sorry for my ignorance and thank you so much for your help.

 Hi Lolly :

Anytime you post on a forum ALWAYS mention the name
of your Operating System ; it would also be helpful if you
mention the name(s) of your security programs (Ad-Aware,
Spybot, Ewido, etc ) . What you have is an adware,
possibly spyware program, which is more easily removed
by using an antiSPYWARE program, though "DavidR" gave
you a link to "Removal Instructions" . You also may want to view
 the info at : http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/malware/f3popswt.dll.php !?

P.S. You need to "shrink" the size of your avatar .

Wow, ya think!? LOL Sorry about that, that was pretty scary! lol

Thanks soooo much for your help and prompt replies. You guys are awesome!

Much better sized-avatar . Since you are accessing the net
for the 1st time, I would encourage you to read Tony Klein
