Try a scan like http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ see what it comes up with. Also since you are using 98 SE I recommend that you try a-squared is a really good antitrojan program for people using older systems. You can get the free a-squared version by clicking the link below.

http://download1.emsisoft.com/a2freesetup.exe

When you click the link wait about 5 seconds and the download should begin.

Good Luck.

What was the file name, where was it found
example (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?

hi there it is found in c:\windows \temp\exe.1.exe win32:Bifrose-H that is in avast progam log .iam try a scan with housecall.trendmicro.com see what it finds and also i have looked in the c:\windows \temp folder and can no see the file in there can it be hidden as i can not see it but avast is telling me it is in there

I found these removal instructions from Trend Micro:

http://it.trendmicro-europe.com/enterprise/vinfo/encyclopedia.php?LYstr=VMAINDATA&vNav=2&VName=BKDR_BIFROSE.F

BKDR_BIFROSE.F is their name for the Trojan. Curiously, it says the Trojan runs on XP.

Have you tried cleaning your temp files?

CleanUp! is quite rigorous, and has delete on reboot for temp files in use:

http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/

Do you have windows explorer set to show all files?

Open windows explorer, click view, click folder options, click view tab, click show all files, click apply.

Another thing you could try is do a scan in safe mode. Sometimes you can delete from there when you can’t in normal windows.

Good luck!
