I downloaded a file that had Trojan Viruses and AVAST immediately found them and I deleted them. Does this mean the viruses are permanently removed or are there more things I have to do to remove them?
if you had default settings, the file should now be in avast chest (quarantine)
since this was a file you downloaded from the net, it is no danger deleting it …
but there is no rush to delete from chest, you can read here why …
Clean, Quarantine, or Delete

Sadly I already deleted theme. Is my situation hopeless?
no problem deleting files you download from the net … your computer will not miss it
the problem is when/if a system file is wrongly detected as malware and you delete…if you quarantine then you have the option to restore (move the file back) the file if somthing is wrong…if you delete you have no options left
and malware in quarantine can not harm your computer, so it is no rush to delete. leave file(s) in quarantine fore a couple of weeks to see if all is okay before you empty chest
