Hi,
I recently came across a Trojan.W32.Beagle virus which Avast does not detect.
The exe-file (when executed) creates two new files called “hidr.exe” and “flec003.exe” both located in a hidden directory. It then creates a few autorun-registry-keys and even tried to shut down my Sunbelt Personal Firewall (that’s where I killed the process to stop it from growing further).
I sent the file to virus@avast.com about a week ago (Jan 30th) but Avast is still not able to detect the file. My current file-version is 000710-4 and I’m using the free/home edition of Avast 4.7 on WinXP.
I would suggest putting these files in the chest and send them from the chest. The samples sent from the chest are filtered so get away from the 4000+ other emails sent every day to virus @ avast.com.
You can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest and send it from there (right click, email to Alwil Software).
Any file size restriction from the chest may be changed in Program Settings, Chest, 'Maximum size of file to be sent, parameter. Some ISPs may also have an attachment file size restriction, but this should allow it to be sent from the chest.
