Same thing here. A new update just became available in the last little while. Updating (and rebooting) did it for me. So I’m back in business.

I’ve been getting that same thing up until 5 minutes ago. My virus definitions just updated and now I can post. I dunno if me being on Firefox 3.6 had anything to do with it but I do have Avast update itself regularly.

when things like this happen, you can let avast update by it’s self or you can update manually and if there is one available it will update to the newest one. just right click on the icon and choose update

I’m not sure that your suggestion is at all related to this topic as there is no trojan, so nothing to remove.

The web shield blocks the download (aborts the connection) of an infected element to prevent it getting on to your system and in many cases prevents the user accessing the actual site if the infected element is embedded in the actual page.

So you will have to excuse my questioning of the motivation of the post (for your first post) when you then give a link to a business/commercial site (considered link spamming when you have an interest in the site), registered in Canada, with an IP hosting address in the UK and your location not in the USA as in your profile.

Perhaps I’m just of a very suspicious nature in first posts like this, my humble apologies if your post is entirely altruistic, if so please remove the commercial link.
