Thank U DavidR :).
What do You know about that non-Unicode programs?
I still have same problem with starting up (since first trojan I got- in tha time when I was using Kaspersky, so I cannot espect from avast program to resolve it, I’m aware of it)- those hyerogliphics, and ONLY by clicking ok I can start up my laptop. Is it somehow related to that non-Unicode programs? I have enabled that function in my control panel language section? Should I uncheck those code page conversion tables in advanced options, that I’m not using as korean, japaneese and other languages?
And only last night when I was rebooting system via SAS, after that there weren’t those hyerogliphics, I started it normally.
My knowledge is limited and this is just one of many blank spots, but my friend Google might be able to help out, http://www.google.com/search?q=non-Unicode+programs.
Hi guys…
considering all problems I had with virusis for a past few days, I become a little bit paranoid :)…
Give me please an advice about how often should I use clean up program for removing cookies(and should I restore computer befor doing that (using clean up) )?
Now, every day I’m scanning laptop(with SAS and avast scan ) after using the internet at the end of the day-is it ok?
Depending on the browser you’re using, you can set it to delete all cookies automatically when you close it. Some cleaning programs will do it too (CCleaner, for instance).
You don’t have to ‘backup’ or ‘set a restore point’ just because you’re cleaning cookies.
Well, if you use avast resident, I think it’s too much scan the computer on-demand each day…
Cookies really aren’t a problem and I clear the ones I don’t want to keep weekly. I would say the same for the cleanup program.
With avast scanning the files likely to be an issue (executable files, dlls, etc.) you don’t need to do an on-demand scan every day, again I would say weekly. The same is true for SAS, weekly, before you run that you need to do a manual update of its signatures.
I think you are now seeing a pattern in things being done weekly so you do that as a regular weekly maintenance task, write it down and that way you don’t forget anything. After you have done the scans, you should back-up files you don’t want to lose.
Back-up all the things that you don’t want to lose, data files, like documents, spreadsheets, emails, email account details, registration keys, address book, favourites/bookmarks, downloaded files/programs, etc. the list goes on and on but if you don’t want to lose it back it up. There are many back-up programs that can simplify this task and run it every day.
