Trojan

I have a problem with a Trojan that won’t go away & the anti-virus alerts me to it & then when I try to take action says it can’t find the file. I have windows 98 2nd ed. with some Office XP files. Over the past couple of days there has been quite a few alerts to other viruses & I have run Avast home 4.6 & have managed to get rid of the viruses. (at least I hope so) I recently reformatted my hard drive & reinstalled everything but had to pay to have XP installed as I don’t have the disc. I don’t want to have to do this again. My sensitivity is high & I scan archives. I also use the free Ad Aware program to scan. The file name is C:\temp\NCasePackage.exe
& the Malware name is Win32 Trojano-803
HELP!!!

Download and run RejZoR’s avast! External Control from eXcessive Software. Use the “Advanced File Remover” in avast! External Control to delete the offending file.

Just as a precaution, do online Spyware and Virus scans.

There is no need to double post this. Look for solutions in thread that that you had already post.

thanx 4 ur help xistenz. I went to the site u recommended & found External control (i may sound dumb but there was no RejZoR’s avast) I downloaded the version that was there but cannot find it now on my computer. ??? I did run the other 2 programs you recommended, but I am still having problems with viruses, it’s driving me nuts!!! Also some of the viruses that have already been deleted once by avast turn up again. The External control did download but I had to choose what program to open it in & I chose the wrong one. I don’t know what is the right one!!

Hi,

might it be, that you get this alert from the Avast resident shield, and only when you do a scan with Ad-Aware ?

try pausing avast shield (you should be offline then) while you scan with ad-aware & let it fix problems

then do a throrough & archive scan with avast in SafeMode (F8-Boot)

also post a hijackthis-Log for diagnosis

Links/Infos you’ll find in “VirusRemoval” below in my sig
