trojanDropper.Agent.xd

the ewido security suite im using detected trojanDropper.agent.xd in the path C:\Program Files\Arovax Shield
the file is : liveupdate.exe

any clues?
i mean, i really dont think arovax shield is a trojan now is it?

thanks,
tim

Well ewido is more of a specialist trojan hunter so it might pick up something that avast didn’t. I’m sure we may hear from our resident Arovax member ‘cerbey’, see this thread and PM him - http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=17216.0

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. You can’t do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.
Or VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner

Results from Jotti:

File: liveupdate.exe
Status:
OK

Tim, its likely that Ewido detected a false positive.

It certainly looks that way, assuming that you both have the latest signature updates in ewido and more importantly of course the same version of Arovax liveupdate.exe

thanks ya’ll

i feel much better
