I started out using Avast Home Edition. After running a scan it found 2 Trojan viruses. I put them in the Virus Chest. Soon after, I downloaded & started using the Professional Edition of Avast. The download uninstalled the Home Edition & then I installed the Professional Edition. When I do a scan now, the Professional Edition doesn’t find the viruses and they aren’t in the virus chest either. Were they deleted from my computer when the Home Edition was uninstalled? Am I free of them now? Thank you.
Well first there is no need to uninstall the home version, just enter the Pro License, assuming you bought a license and not just using the trial version.
Once you uninstall avast anything in the chest also goes, so they are history, so it comes as no surprise that you don’t find anything. The uninstall removes the avast program files folder and sub folders which includes the chest.
