I have done a limited search but I can’t find anything like this:-
I can use my machine for quite a long time, say 2 hours with no problem but if I just leave it switched on for a while for any reason with no activity when I come back to it, it nearly always indicates that a Trojan has been detected and I should move it to the Chest. Sometimes there is more than one Trojan indicated. Has anyone else experienced this? I am fairly new to Avast
2.4m CPU, 512 ram, Windows XP Pro, broadband.
Do you have a screensaver running when you are not using your system, if so that is the first set of files I would check out. Also what is the path of the detected trojans
In order to help fully we need more information…
- What avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number, e.g. 0436-4 (see about avast!)
- What was the virus name, what was the filename, where was it found
example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)? - What actions have you taken to try and resolve the problem?
Are you still connected to the internet whilst you are away ?
Which provider is detecting this ?
Do you have a firewall ?
