I ran out of time because I couldnt figure out how to find the activation code and was lazy. So ive been trying to reinstall avast. I deleted the old one and every time I install the new one it says: “the aplication has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. please see the application event log for more details.”
What do I do?

I did all of this exactly but it still didnt work! Actually when I went to reinstall avast, the progress bar went to the end but it did not finish. I tryed xing out then starting it again but then no window even came up saying it was installing. Then I was doing some work and about an hour later it popped up saying installation is complete. So i clicked on avast and I got the same error message as before I uninstalled in safe mode with the program I got from your link and reinstalled via the other link…
so what should I do now?
Please tell us more about your system… (OS,firewall or other security sw?)
Which version of avast did you try to install? (free/pro/ais)
