Trouble with Avast Last Update (4.1.319 DEC03) and Kaspersky Anti-Hacker

Hi all !
When i start windows, i have this :

http://mapage.noos.fr/nomi/images/avast.gif

However, I have not installed Kaspersky Anti Virus, only Anti-Hacker a few months ago… ??? ???

Thx

This could be:

  1. what Vlk called ‘Technical’s problem’ at this forum
But it’s supposed to be solved in the new version of avast (4.1.319)

  2. do you have any ‘other’ antivirus installed or even in the past, have you any application like Norton antivirus, McAfee, NOD, Panda, AVG … ?

it is the technical problem where some of the kaspersky firewall files are the same as the kaspersky AV files

do you have the latest version of the antihacker installed ?
v 1.5.119

The same error message is shown when a previous instalation of avast! is detected… This was suppose to be solved… :‘( The user could not update to 4.1.319 using the full setup.exe file because two messages of software incompatibility were shonw in my system. Even at Control Panel, the software incompatibility error message is shown! :’(

Of course I do not have another av installed

Anakin, would you mind sending me an export of your registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services ? Just send the exported .reg file to my email, if you can…

Thanks
Vlk

Do you need mine for the second time?
The languages bring some mess to the installation process…

Do you need mine for the second time?

No, provided you don’t have the Kaspersky-related message.

I don’t think so. What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to update an existing installation with an self-extract setup?

No, I don’t have Kaspersky but the message come twice for me saying I have the monster, you know, NAV and Internet Security.

Why not? I did this on my Windows 98 installation untill now…

Is there another way to have 2 languages? I mean, not desinstalling the first one to install the second? And, of course, not be connected to the Internet? ::slight_smile:

Yes. Instead of downloading the english or portuguese -only, you need the one with ALL the languages.

You can download it here: http://download1.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupfulpro.exe

Hope this helps,
Vlk

THANKS ;D

I’ll try it…

To anybody who is experiencing difficulties to install the second language, if you have one computer with it, you can copy the language folder to another (of course, we are talking about legal things, I mean, the second computer of a Home+Non commercial installation and not piracy)

Vlk, when I click ‘Add/Remove’ on the Control Panel I receive the message of a second, incompatible, av program, which is Norton Antivirus/ Internet Security… This message appears twice! One after another (both are identical). I do not have them!

After that, the Update and Repair proccesses works…
The Change button works too…
The Uninstall I let it to you ;D I won’t try and have to configure avast! again.

This big download failed! >:(
You receive 2 Norton Antivirus / Internet Security alerts…
Only the buttons ‘Change’ and ‘Uninstall’ are available…
When you click ‘Change’ the next window shows an error: An error was occurred while changing the product configuration (or something like that…).

Sad day of downloadings and without any results (it’s late for me… I’m going to bed) >:(

Thx for all answer !!
I have installed PC-Cillin, but it is not activated…
I have the french version of Anti Hacker 1.5.48.0

hello
how did you finally fix this pb please? at win (xp pro) startup, i still have exactly the same windows like yours displayed (avast : incompatible av-software running … kaspersky anti-virus etc…

sisi, and do do you have Kaspersky Anti-Virus or Anti-Hacker installed and running?

hi supreme moderator  thanks for your answer,
no kasperky or anti-Hacker in my computer, only kerio firewall and mcafee virusscan that i have uninstalled but i still have the same pb.
i think it’s because of the program update (avast home 4.1.289 to 4.1.319) because it’s ok again now with the 4.1.289 i have reinstalled.
So for the moment, i will just update IAVS and will install a second antivirus which doesn’t conflict with avast… do u think it is a good idea? are there many people having pb with this pgm update?

Running
“C:\ … \Avast\ashBug.exe” /setuplog
generates a bug repport error. I sent it twice to Alwil.
What’s up? I cannot find the data stored for this bug repport, is it stored in my HDD?

So is the error message really the same as in the original poster’s case? I mean, that message was talking about Kaspersky, yours too?

Generally you can’t reliably run two on-access scanners at once. What you can do is have one AV on-access (and on-demand) and a second one on-demand only (so-called backup scanner).
