Yes, just add the registration key for the Home version
You don’t have to uninstall it, just adding the key will do the ‘transformation’… 8)

I can’t find the license key. I searched but what i found is the program link that is setupengpro.exe[11 mb] . Where is the license key. I can’t try downloading the 11 mb file because i have a very slow internet connection, so please tell i have to download the full program or there is a key.

Tech was talking about the license key for avast Home (which you already have, or can get for free here).

setupengpro.exe is the installer of avast! Professional. I must say I’m not sure if you can use it to update an existing installation of avast! Home; maybe you’ll have to uninstall avast! Home first and then install the trial version of avast! Professional from scratch. When the trial is over and you want to go back to avast! Home, you can just enter the free Home license key into avast! Professional and it will “transform” itself into avast! Home.

I think it would be way to go Home → Pro if you enter Pro trial key. But since you can’t get it other than with new installation of avast! Pro it’s only possible other way around. As far as i know you can just enter new key for avast! Pro (if you buy one) into avast! Home and will also upgrade to Pro version. Vlk or someone from ALWIL could’t confirm this for sure if it’s true or not…

Hello Igor, I came across your statement about using the Pro license key to transform the Home edition into the Professional one. I think that can solve my problem. I bought the upgrade and got the key but only the key and don’t know what to do with it. There was no attachment with a download in the email. Do I just enter the License Key? No uninstalling or anything? That would be easy. Right now my computer says I’m still using Home buld 4.7.892.

I’ve left another string hoping someone will see it and figure out how I can do this. I hope you can help. Thanks

Hi atwest,
yes, just enter the License key then the program will download some files and everything done ! To enter the key, right click avast! icon in system tray and choose about avast! > Click License key button and enter the license key then press OK.

Just install avast and you’ll have a demo key for 60 days automatically at the first avast installation.
