trying to re-register but never received email w/ registration key

Hello. I am trying to re-register Avast as it expires in a couple days. I visited http://www.avast.com/en-us/registration-free-antivirus.php, filled out all required information, and clicked “Register free license”. It has been just about 24 hours now, and I have not received an email containing my new registration key.

Has anyone else experienced this amount of lag with the registration key email (generally these types of emails are sent / delivered quite quickly)?

Am I doing anything wrong? Should I be re-registering using another method?

Finally, can I continue to use the same email address to re-register for the free version year after year?

Just to clarify, I did check my spam / trash folders in my email with no luck.

If you are using Avast Free 6, then you simply open Avast main GUI, select “Maintenance”, then “Registration” and follow the instructions there.

I was actually trying to re-register the software for a friend. I’m not by his computer right now, so I’ll have to check which version of the software he has next time I see him. Just in case my friend doesn’t want me to install the newer version of the software (he’s paranoid about new installations causing problems on his PC), is there another way to re-register prior versions than what I described in my original post?

Thank you for the link. He had version 5.0.633 and your link worked. He received an email with the registration key fairly quickly after using your link.

Just to clarify, he never received the emails from our original attempts using the link in my original post.

I’m using Avast Free 6.0.1203. I’m trying to re-register as registration expires within a few days. When using the above process, I can notice some activity which after a few seconds stops, however the re-registration message (i.e. registration expiry within xx days) is still displayed. What could be wrong?

Maybe it needs to run out before re register

You may have to simply reboot (and try again, and reboot again), or maybe some firewall is blocking the connection, or some old (seemed “uninstalled”) security tool might have some conflict?

If you reboot, try again and reboot again, and then you still have a problem then try at http://www.avast.com/en-us/resend-license-free-antivirus.php for your FREE edition.
