trying to uninstall, do not have password.

I’m trying to disable the avast mobile app so I can do a manual update of my device. Since I don’t want this app interfering at all I’ve decided to uninstall it completely but now it’s asking me for a password. I don’t even remember setting this password up and there seems to be no way to reset it or anything. How would I get this thing off my phone then?

Hi,

when exactly are you asked for password? Because you shouldn’t be, if you are just trying to uninstall Avast Mobile Security app.

If you installed and set up Anti-Theft, you might have to disable the “device administrator” option in the system settings. Try going to “Settings - Location and Security (or just Security) - Device administrators”. Or you can use the Anti-Theft removal wizard which can be found in the Settings section of AMS.

If you didn’t set any password and try to use the removal wizard, you might be asked for password - in that case, you can try to use “0000”, which is the default password.

Hope that helps,

I tested all passwords i think i set also the “0000” nothing works.

Hi,

that’s really weird. Is AMS really blocking your phone Settings?
