Sorry, but I’m tired of Avast, and this new problem just adds to my frustrations of why I’m not happy with it.
If you want to know why I want to remove Avast, it’s because of the Malware-style pop-ups, and the CONSTANT False-positives. Like, it flags the exe files I need to run my games as a Virus, AFTER I’ve already played the game several times.
My current problem is with attempting to install a different Antivirus. I’ve uninstalled Avast Several times, in different ways, and it still tells me that Avast Update Helper is detected, and I can’t uninstall it no matter what I try.
I HAVE used Avastclear, SEVERAL times. It doesn’t work. I don’t care if you have a script to follow, skip telling me to try it, please, as IT DOESN’T WORK.
And please don’t try to convince me otherwise. I’m done with Avast. Especially if it’s trying to keep from playing my games. (The most recent case being one downloaded from the Windows Store) That does not make for a good Antivirus software.

Did you run it from safe mode? https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-Antivirus-Utility/
I really don’t know how we can help as you don’t appear to want any, but just get rid of avast.
It really does require a detailed description (step by step) before anyone could possible suggest anything else - that really is why we give the step by step instructions to confirm exactly what you have tried.
How do you figure I don’t want help?
How can you not figure it out?
I stated that I followed the step-by-step instructions on uninstalling it. The problem is that I can’t install a different Antivirus, because even after uninstalling according to the instructions, it still says that Avast Update Helper is detected on the computer.
The Avastclear claims to do its job (yes, in Safe Mode), but the other Antivirus still detects it.
So again, I’ll try to make this clear: After I uninstall Avast by the instructions, and restarting my computer, the new Antivirus fails to install because Avast Update Helper is being detected on the computer still. It does not show up in my Programs list, or anything.
I tried that, too. When I search for Avast folders, a lot of them look like they could be ones that would mess up the Registry, so I didn’t delete those ones.
