I realized recently that i cannot load .exe file with my windows 7 system. I read some similar topics ta reflect my current situation. I think it is related to some kind of worm which seems to be quit a pain to remove without professional help. Here is a link below of what i think it is. So far the system seems to be running quite good, except for that conversion from .exe to unusable .tmp file. I had wish to install Malwarebyte but cannot since the virus is preventing from the setup.I need help! I assume this will probably worsen if not treated rapidly. I had run avast full system scan and only found around 11 infected file but cant do anything to them.
Hi I will start with the heavy mob first and we will see where we can go from there
Download and Install Combofix
Download ComboFix from one of the following locations: Link 1 Link 2
VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks
Followed procedures and think it did the trick.I am now able to execute what was being converted to .tmp. But don’t really know if the file deleted was important for windows.
In my previous post, I have said that avast could not deal with the file but it was a misinterpretation of my part. It did delete the trz****.tmp file but those files were not the virus itself. Only the file generated after trying to execute an application, caused by the virus.
The only concern i had was these file showing up. But could it be Avast that is preventing the application from running??? It seems that when I disable file system shield from Avast I can run the file .exe. But when I turn Avast on it turn it again to trz****.tmp.
