Hi! thanks for waiting. here are the logs of the tools i ran from the list above. thanks in advance for future assistance.

It may be related to that game , I will remove the recycle bin where the files are stored. Once this is done could you run the game again to see if it regenerated

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

[Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

hello! i couldn’t run the game since its executable file was missing. i had to reinstall it from a fresh downloaded installer. i ran the game and in the first hour, no trz.tmp files were being generated, but after 4 hours of letting the game run, it started generating again. so i did the code otl scans you instructed and I attached the logs from the quick scan. Should i delete the generated .tmp files or just leave it for the meantime? the files keep generating and it’s already around 200 the when i checked. it might reach thousands by the time you read this. what should I do next? thanks.

What game is this and where was it downloaded from

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Hi, i attached the log for combofix. The game is called League of Legends. I downloaded it from here: lol.garena.ph/downloads

I ran the game before combofix and it still produced the trz.tmp files. i feel its replacing some of the game files with these files. I haven’t tried it after the combofix yet though but i will post as soon as it starts generating the trz.tmp files again. thanks.

It looks as though they are being generated by the game and they have unfortunately the same name as the worm

No sign of malware showing on the system

hmmm…it’s weird because some executable files keep missing once the game generates these .tmp files. I installed the game at another computer and it doesn’t generate these files that’s why i think it’s a worm or virus, but it only affects games. what could be causing this?

OK lets use a different tool. This will generate a zip file for me to analyse. Could you upload that to a file sharing site Dropbox/mediafire for me to collect

Download AVPTool from Here to your desktop

Run the programme you have just downloaded to your desktop ( it will be randomly named )

First we will run a virus scan
Select the cog to access scan areas

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/Kas%20front.JPG

On the first tab select all elements down to OS C and then select start scan

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/Kas%20Scan%20area.JPG

Once it has finished select reports and post the detected threats
.

Now an analysis scan
Select the Manual Disinfection tab
Press the Gather System Information button

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/kas%20manual.JPG

Once it has completed then click Step 2 Report sending

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/73555776/avp%20report.JPG

Click avptool.sysinfo.zip
And you will be taken to the zip file that needs to be attached

Hello again. I havent done the procedure above yet. I just wanted to add some details. i found out that my game folder was shared on the network and I unshared them. I’ve been running the game for 24 hours after that and so far no trz.tmp files were being generated. do you thing these are related? Do I still have to continue with the procedure above? is it possible that the worm may have come from the network and not my system that’s why we couldn’t find it?

If disabling shares has stopped it then that would explain why there was nothing apparent on your system. No need for AVP now.

Although this may indicate that the computer you were sharing with was infected

Okay. Thanks for all the help. What should I do now then? do i cleanup all the tools used and uninstall them now or should I wait a little longer?

Lets tidy up

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

]A message should appear confirming that ComboFix was uninstalled

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

Right click Disc Cleanup and select run as administrator
When it pops up at the first prompt select OK after it has done some calculations the tabs will appear
