TS clients

This is my environment.

Windows 2003 server with local clients and terminal clients.

The ADNM discovers the local clients but not the TS Clients. Is this supported in ADNM?

what is the easiest way to push avast to a ts clients?

Can you manage with ADNM ts clients using the Pro Edition or do they have to have the Network
Client?

Thanks

Hi,

and welcome to the avast forum.

I’m sorry but I don’t think I understand the question. What do you mean by “local clients”?

I assume by “TS client”, you mean a machine that’s only used to access the terminal server (?)

Although this is quite confusing:

The ADNM discovers the local clients but not the TS Clients

so, I’m really not sure what your configuration is.

Can you manage with ADNM ts clients using the Pro Edition or do they have to have the Network Client?

In any case, for ADNM, you need to use the managed version. The Professional Edition cannot be managed by ADNM in any way (it doesn’t have the ADNM connector in it).

Sorry about the confusion.

A local client to me is a computer workstation on the LAN and not WAN (Ts Client)

I was able to push the Avast Netclient to a computer connected on the LAN.

Can you push the Avast Net client to a computer that is connect to the Terminal Server?

Thanks

Mike

So, the TS clients are connected via WAN?

Well, generally, the program can be pushed only to machines that are visible from the Network Neighborhood. Otherwise, they’re not addressable by NetBIOS (the protocol used by Windows file sharing).

Thanks

Are you wishing to push the software to a machine using Terminal Services thorugh an ICA client?

How are those clients connected to the Network?

You wouldn’t see them in Avast listed as clients of the Terminal Server, you would have to look for them on the subnet or IP range they are on…

Cheers
