Tube Finder & Firewall

Yesterday I downloaded Kyotesoft’s Free FLV Converter, which also contains a ‘Tubefinder’, which downloads videos from websites like YouTube etc…

Having checked my firewall’s application rules I notice that the Tubefinderpart of the program is set to allow ALL CONNECTIONS through my firewall.

I am wondering if this is necessary? As far as I am aware it only downloads and does not download/upload like for example Bittorrent does.

Any ideas? Is this a breach of security/privacy for me?

Well, you could always play with the rule a bit. Delete the rule for it, and change the policy to ask. Then the next time you use it, it should request the amount of access it desires, giving you some faint clue of what it wants to do.
